Madeleine Campbell Appointed to HBLB Board
Madeleine Campbell has been appointed by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport as a member of the HBLB Board for four years from 1 January 2026. She succeeds Lord Risby whose term expired on 31 December 2025.

Madeleine is the Professor of Veterinary Ethics at the University of Nottingham and an EBVS and RCVS Recognised Specialist in Animal Welfare Science, Ethics, and Law. A leading authority in her field, she holds several high-level leadership roles, including Chair of the British Equestrian Federation’s Ethics and Welfare Advisory Group and Chair of the Greyhound Board of Great Britain’s Welfare and Veterinary Standing Committee. She serves as an Independent Member of the Federation Equestre Internationale Welfare and Ethics Advisory Group and an Independent Member of the British Horseracing Authority’s Ethics Panel.
