Government Appointed Members Recommendations for the 50th Levy Scheme
The Government Appointed Members of the Horserace Betting Levy Board (HBLB) today confirm that the recommendations made by them with respect to the 50th Levy Scheme have been submitted to the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport.
The recommendations follow a request by the Secretary of State after the HBLB and the Bookmakers’ Committee did not reach agreement on the terms of the 50th Levy Scheme by the 31st October 2010 and the Scheme being referred to the Secretary of State for determination.
Levy Board Chairman Paul Lee said:
"The Government Appointed Members have taken very seriously the request by the Secretary of State and a substantial piece of work has been undertaken in formulating our recommendations. It is now up to the wider industry to reflect upon these recommendations sensibly."
”We do not propose to make any further comments for the time being”.
