Winter Jump Fund
The Winter Jump Fund (WJF) continues in 2026 with a budget allocation of £1.383m (2025: £1.34m).
The WJF will operate the same way as it did in 2025, with the objective of encouraging racecourses to stage fixtures on days which may be unattractive to racegoers, but are important to the generation of off-course betting turnover, levy income and for providing opportunities for the horse population.
Jump fixtures taking place from Sunday to Friday between January 2nd – March 13th will receive additional prize money payments as follows:
- January: Racecourse fixtures £16,000; BHA fixtures £6,400
- February: Racecourse fixtures £12,000; BHA fixtures £4,800
- March: Racecourse fixtures £8,000; BHA fixtures £1,600
No WJF payments are made to the Cheltenham Festival.
If a fixture that was scheduled to receive a WJF payment is abandoned, the payment will be made to the racecourse’s next fixture within the same code (i.e. Flat or Jump).
