Programme Protection Payments
In both 2024 and 2025, £0.97m was allocated annually to Programme Protection Payments (PPP). The scheme concluded at the end of 2025 and the detail below remains for information purposes.
The PPP scheme was designed to support the movement of fixtures as part of the Premierisation strategy to reduce congestion on Saturday afternoons. Around 40 fixtures moving out of the protected window on Saturday afternoons received additional prize money funding to ensure that their race programmes were maintained. Payment levels by fixture move type were modified following review of the 2024 scheme and funding concluded at the end of 2025 in alignment with the end of Racing’s two-year Premierisation trial.
