Incremental Prize Money
The Incremental Prize Money (IPM) mechanism involves a fixed payment of £650 to all qualifying races, in order to increase prize money and uplift minimum values in the lower-graded areas of the race programme.
In 2025 £3.85m has been allocated to IPM (2024: £3.85m). Payments will be made to races of the following type:
Flat
- Class 4 – 6 Handicaps
- Class 4 – 6 Weight for age Classified races
Jump
- Class 3 – 5 Handicaps
Racecourses will not receive any ratecard recognition on the £650 payment and prize money in these races must be paid down to a minimum of 5 places.
