Default percentage for the 50th Levy Scheme

The Board noted that the default percentage of total gross profit attributable to British horserace betting business, excluding profits from gaming machines, to be identified in the Form of Declaration for the 50th Levy period will be 41%. This has risen from 39% in the 49th period (2010/11).


Betting Patterns Working Party

The Board approved the amended composition and terms of reference of its Betting Patterns Working Party. The list of members is shown below:

Allocations to Capital Credits January to June 2012

The Board approved racecourse applications for:

a) Raceday Services transfers to Capital Credits of £1,639,300 for the period 1st January to 30th June 2012;

b) Prize Money transfers to Capital Credits of £2,876,291 for the period 1st January to 30th June 2012;

c) Capital Credit Grants to be applied during January to June 2012 as repayments of loans in respect of approved development projects totalling £1,129,500;

d) Transfers to Capital Credits of additional requests made subsequently by racecourses for specified prize money-related grants yet to be awarded but which are allocated at a later date for the period 1st January 2012 to 30th June 2012. These include Appearance Money and Quality Support Fund payments.


Capital Credit Requests

The Board approved:

a) A Capital Credit grant of £466,210 to York Racecourse for six capital projects, including:
- Head Lads building refurbishment
- Parade ring surface improvement
- Installing a new track safety rail
- Installing a new Bustardthorpe fence line
- Upgrading the rubberised walkways at the stable complex
- Install a new sauna

b) A Capital Credit grant of £9,110 to Salisbury Racecourse for replacing a section of fencing and installing new access gates.
