CEMO test for non-Thoroughbred stallions
Contagious equine metritis (CEM) poses a risk to all breeding horses and ponies. A laboratory test can detect the infection and this is an effective preventative measure prior to breeding.

To encourage wider use of screening for the CEM organism (CEMO), HBLB had been funding free laboratory testing for non-Thoroughbred stallions that had not been previously tested.

However, due to lack of take up, the scheme was discontinued with effect from 1 January 2016.
