Appearance Money

HBLB’s Appearance Money Scheme is designed as an incentive to racehorse owners to run their horses on specified days of the week and in particular race categories.

For 2017*, the total value of the Scheme is a repeat of the 2015 and 2016 level of £735,000, funded entirely by HBLB. Appearance payments are £100 per runner and are confined to all eligible runners on Sundays.

*The 2017 figure reflects what a full year expenditure programme would be, however, the Board has only fixed its commitments until the 31st March 2017 and expenditure after this date is subject to review.
